New news from Thailand

I recently had the privilege to visit a couple of the ministries that we send teams to in Northern Thailand. One of the ministries is Sila Home. This is a ministry that helps hill-tribe children from all over Northern Thailand with an opportunity to study. They currently have 40 children, and their aim is to help orphans, the abused, the poor and the neglected children of Thailand by providing them with a safe home, food, clothes and an education, Their hope is for each and every young person to grow in their relationship with Christ. They encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of the Christian faith and promote Christian values among the children. They also promote and cultivate life skills that will enable the children to become responsible members and leaders within their community. Sila Home also has a second project. Ruth Home is a place where girls who has been traffic into sex slavery gets taking care of. They bring them in, show them the love of Jesus and care for their need.

I had quite a few teams coming in during the last couple of weeks and it is such a pleasure to be able to teach them on evangelism, Thai culture and motivate them to dream big for God. Many of them don't have an idea what Buddhism is all about and I am so privilege to be able to freely give them the knowledge that the Lord gave to me through all the years of traveling and sharing the Gospel with Buddhists and also to give them an understanding of the mindset of the Thai's that "If you are a Thai you are a Buddhist".

We are entering the very busy season with all the teams that will be coming to Thailand and your prayers will be appreciated for effective outreach opportunities.

Evangelistic tools for Thailand

Here are some of the evangelistic tools that we use in Thailand. We have received amazing feedback from all over Thailand of people receiving the Good News and of people that came to know Jesus.

We have a variety of Gospel tracts. Some of them are very creative and it is really awesome to find people running after us to request some. Most of the creative tracts are not in Thai yet but we really believe that the provision will be in place as soon as we have finalized the artwork and translation. The Dvd's are great testimonies of Thai's that came to Jesus. The Super-book is 12 Bible stories in cartoon/animation form and is in Thai. This is actually very popular all over the world. We also have a great evangelistic movie that was made by Create International, "When The Storm Comes".

The newest tool is the Dove-Stream (Wireless router). This enable anyone to access free internet downloads. The Jesus movie and many other evangelistic material are available. People are always looking for free internet spots and this tool are very effective within a 100  - 150 meter surround. It also has 5 hours of battery life. This means, that if you can't speak the language then you can walk around and people have this opportunity to watch exiting Christian movies, questions and answers etc. wherever you go. We know that the Lord is using it as a wonderful tool to spread the Gospel.

Then we have the comic Bible, that are extremely effective. Thai's don't like reading but comic books are very popular. This is why everybody, young or old read this Bible very easily. This is in demand and the price is round $2.30 or R32 each. This Comic Bible is from Genesis to Revelation and explains everything of the Good News.

We got feedback from many people, pastors and missionaries about how Thai's came to know Jesus through these Bibles. Every team that comes to Thailand get loads of these material and they as well as their hosts use this to influence their neighbourhood, hand it out in prisons, hospitals and wherever they go.

I was privileged to have arranged that Bangkok, our HQ, also distribute most of this material to teams and hosts. I want to thank everyone that is involved in some way or another (financially or prayer) for the blessing and privilege to be able to obtain (buying or printing) these evangelistic tools. I am sure that we will all be astonished one day in heaven to see what God has done through every effort that maybe went seemingly unnoticed. We have nearly run out of these Comic Bibles but we know that God will intervene.

Why Thailand need urgent prayer!

Here we can see that Thailand have even less Christians than North Korea and it has the lowest in the whole of Asia except from the small island of Maldives.
